About the Event
This talk covers the story of how Ana started quilting and the progress from traditional quilting to art quilting and surface design. While showing different examples of her work, Ana talks about the importance of having a passion, and feeding that passion with constant experimentation and play. Ana hopes you will be influenced to add some of her techniques to your own repertoire. Ana describes the techniques used to make a specific piece, some of the things that went wrong and how she fixed them. Funny stories about the art pieces are shared throughout.
Bio:
Ana’s work focuses on Art Quilting, incorporating different elements of surface design: fabric painting, mono-printing, screen printing, hand-dyeing, and embroidery techniques. She works mostly with her own artist hand-dyed and designed fabrics.
